Our Backstory
Frances Elle was born from a longtime love of special things and the joy of hunting for hidden treasures. This is Frances Loraine, my beloved grandmother for whom Frances Elle is named (Loraine = L = Elle).
When I was little, she and my grandfather made regular cross-country road trips to visit family in Virginia and Texas, and to spend the springtime months under the “Arizona blue sky.” Mammy, as I called her, loved to shop — or more specifically, like me, she loved to hunt for treasures. It was the dawn of off-price retailers, and Mammy was obsessed. She traveled with a printed list of all her favorite stores in the country, with her notes in the margins about which stores had what, so they could stop and shop along their travels. She’d never miss an opportunity to hunt for her favorite brands. And, oh boy, does that resonate with me. That passion has followed me through life, and today Frances Elle is my way of sharing it with others.

Sarah Morris has called Kennebunk home for over fifteen years; raising her family, building her dream home, and now taking on a new adventure of being a business owner. Frances Elle is the realization of a dream that's been years in the making.
Sarah has always believed luxury fashion should be worn, loved, and appreciated. Not hidden away. Whether she's carefully curating the boutique's inventory, helping someone find their first designer handbag, or tracking down a rare piece through our bespoke sourcing service, her goal is to help every client discover something they'll treasure for years to come.
Every item in the boutique is personally curated from trusted sources and local collectors, with authenticity, quality, and timeless style guiding every decision.
